Powdery mildew and botrytis diseases management

As an example, red berry production is currently a vital sector not only in the local economy but also at the national level.

In parallel with the redefinition of the international perception of pesticide use and the fact that the majority of domestic red fruit production is destined for the foreign market, producers are always looking for new technologies and good agricultural practices for the sake of their crops.

Conscious of the right to allow Moroccan farmers to access new biological alternatives in their production protection programs, the SAOAS group always actively participate in the improvement of Moroccan agriculture by enriching the pesticides market by new generations of active ingredients and the organization of farmers' awareness days to the emerging issues of the sector.

On November 17th, 2015, the SAOAS group held a technical and informative seminar in Moulay Bousselham, the theme was " TWO SOLUTIONS FOR THE supervised techniques to FIGHT AGAINST FUNGAL DISEASES OF RED FRUITS", which consists of presenting producers with two organic products to handle the diseases of powdery mildew and botrytis.

This event was initiated by the welcome speech of the director of the marketing department Mr. Ibrahim El Ouafi to the fifty farmers operating in the field of the production of the red fruits who were present. Then, Mr. El Alaoui Amine took the floor to give technical generalities on the diseases of the powdery mildew and botrytis which touch the cultures of the red fruits. On their behalf, Mrs Andrea Braggio and Hicham Amini of the Dutch company AAKO intervened for the presentation of these two fungicides: AQ 10 containing the fungus Ampelomyces quisqualis, and BIOBAC based on Bacilus Subtilis (strain Y 1336) against botrytis; Farmers have followed these presentations with great interest since AQ 10 and BIOBAC offer a solution for managing the residue and resistance problems posed by other fungicides. For his part, Mr. Ahmed Hdidi from the SAOAS Group's integrated pest department presented to the farmers present a range of arthropod aids made in a unique unit of the group to control the major pests that prey on berry fruits, namely mites, aphids and thrips.

Following these presentations, a broad debate was opened to further discuss the value of the SAOAS group's organic products; To this end, Mr El Ouafi has proposed to the producers of red fruits a range of products that the group has developed for the benefit of Moroccan farmers for a ZERO RESIDU control program.
